Judith Hayes, commonly known as Ms. Judy, is the Office Manager at Workable Solutions Investigative & Protective Services, LLC. She was born and raised in Minnesota. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1965. Before graduating from High School, she took her Oath and was sworn into the U.S.M.C. in April 1965. Upon graduating she immediately began her basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon graduating from basic training, she was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She was assigned to Headquarters Battalion and assisted in the processing of Court Martials. By the time she concluded her enlistment on December 1, 1967 she had been meritoriously promoted to Sergeant and received an Honorable Discharge.


Upon receiving their honorable discharges her husband and her returned to Montgomery, Alabama to build a home. She raised a family of 3 boys and 1 girl. At the same time while raising a family she worked for AAFES and managed to attend college full time, Alabama Christian, now known as Faulkner University, and earned her degree, ASBA. Her career with AAFES allowed her to assist the Housewares/Giftware buyers in establishing contracts, workshops, and seminars. One of the escalades she received acknowledgement for was the Fall/Winter Housewares Show. She received a Superior Accomplishment Award with a $500 check. In 1990, she was promoted and relocated to Dallas, TX. There she was assigned to work concession contracts for the Army/Air Force bases in the Southeast Region. A large contract that she assisted in being awarded in 1993 was a $1,000,000 contract for condiments for all the Burger Kings. In appreciation for her work ethics and contributions, she received an Excellence Award with a monetary value attached to award. The three (3) year period was a learning/cultural development period for her family, one they never forgot. In 1993, she retired from AAFES after 23 years of service.


She returned to Montgomery, AL and accepted employment with the Montgomery Police Department, the Administrative Division in November 1994. In February 1999, she transferred to the MPD Outdoor Firing Range/Training Facility located just pass the Montgomery Airport. She has been been fortunate to have worked with State, Federal, City and County officials in setting up FBI Firearms Instructor Schools and Domestic Violence/Federal Probation workshops. In 2002, she was named Civilian Employee of the Year. She assisted MPD Officer Lt. B. J. McCullough in the maintaining of FEMA records. The U.S. Dept of Homeland Security Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Letter of Appreciation was presented to her in December 2008. She worked with Community Policing in organizing the Citizens Police Academy. On October 17, 2013, the Alabama Council on Crime & Delinquency presented her with a Certificate of Appreciation. In April 2017, her Medal of Merit was presented. Her last recognition came from the Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall ’s Office, a Certificate of Appreciation for “On Violent Crimes from Beginning to End” in October 2017. In April 2017, she retired after 23 years with MPD.


She has not quite/fully retired yet! She accepted part-time employment with Workable Solutions Investigative & Protective Services, LLC in May 2017. A company that provides a wide range of Security Services, Security Officer Training & Certification programs located in the Gunter Industrial Park area. This has been a new chapter in her life, the opportunity to welcome and benefit from their knowledge and experience.


In addition to working, she has managed to get some traveling in, North Carolina and as far west as Montana. Her family keeps her busy with baseball/football games, cheer practices and weddings. Hobbies are sewing and restoring old furniture.
