Deputy Chief Loyd Jenkins received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Faulkner University. Additionally, he holds several instructor certifications in the field of law enforcement, as well as Certified Police Instructor to teach law enforcement subject matters. Assistant Chief Loyd Jenkins began his career with Alabama State University Police Department and transitioned to the Millbrook Police Department.

During his career, he has been assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division, Training, and Special Operations Division where he served as the SWAT Team Leader. He also rose to the rank of Lieutenant. In addition to these primary duties, he served as an Operator, Firearms & Police Instructor, and Team Leader of the Special Response Team. He has also been a member of the Millbrook Police Department’s Honor Guard. 

He was honored with several police accommodations and the Chief’s Award during his tenure with the Millbrook Police Department.

In 2017, he became the Chief Training Officer for Workable Solutions Investigative & Protective Services, LLC – Public Safety Training Academy. Asst. Chief Loyd Jenkins instructs Unarmed & Armed Security Certification Courses, along with advance Law Enforcement training. In 2021, he was promoted to Deputy Chief of Workable Solutions.

In 2018, Assistant Chief Loyd Jenkins was hired as the Assistant Chief of Police for the Tuskegee Police Department, where he served until being appointed Acting Chief of Police in 2020. In 2019, the Tuskegee Police Department also awarded him the Henry Booser’s Excellence Award for outstanding leadership. 

In 2022, Loyd Jenkins was hired and currently serves as the Chief of Police of Montgomery Regional Airport.
